Examining the symbols and manifestations of Farrah during the reign of Khosroparviz in Tabari's history

Abstract

The concept of farrah is very fundamental in the kingdom of ancient Iran. These kings took their legitimacy from this concept. Farrah Izadi has had different states and forms, Farrah Kyani, Farrah Shahi, Farrah Pahlavi, Farrah Mobdi and Farrah Irani. Tabari mentions this concept in Sasanian history. In this article, the concept of Farah in the kingdom of Khosrow Parviz in Tabari's history is examined. Tabari is a great jurist, theologian, exegete and historian who, in addition to the famous history book "Al-Rasul wa Al-Muluk", wrote a famous and important commentary on the Qur'an, which was very influential on Muslim exegetes. This research can help to understand some of Tabari's views in his interpretation of the Qur'an. The data collection method of this research is library, and the method is qualitative research and analysis of content and narration. Tabari's history is the first Islamic and Iranian source that narrated the concept of farrah. Tabari was fully aware of the concept of "farrah" in ancient Iran. It can be checked that this concept may have been transferred to Islamic concepts by Tabari. Concepts related to Farrah in the kingdom of Khosropriz according to Tabari's narration include: mountain, wind, fruit, elephant, bird of prey, breaking the porch and the Tigris dam, door, staff, handkerchief, ornament and decoration, wind, wisdom, truth, courage, luck and It is a prophecy.
