Sacred spirituality is a divine and revelation-oriented approach to human conduct, realized through inner transcendence, conscious servitude, and connection to the Absolute Truth. Sacred spirituality is not merely a cognitive concept but a profound human experience that guides individuals toward the knowledge of and proximity to God. This study aims to elucidate the factors influencing the realization of sacred spirituality in human life from the perspective of Islamic teachings and Shiite mysticism. The article examines the position of spirituality in Islamic and mystical teachings through an analytical framework. The research employs a qualitative, descriptive-analytical approach. Data were collected and analyzed using qualitative content analysis, drawing on authentic religious texts (the Holy Quran and Hadiths) and prominent works of Muslim scholars in ethics and Islamic mysticism. Additionally, interviews with experts were conducted to identify and organize the indicators of sacred spirituality.
In this study, the principles and threefold roots of sacred spirituality (innate, religious, and mystical) are first examined, followed by an analysis of its tangible outcomes, such as peace of mind and meaning-making in life. The findings indicate that Islamic spirituality is a comprehensive and pervasive phenomenon that permeates all aspects of human life, emphasizing rationality, moderation, and active social engagement. By relying on monotheism, divine law, and attention to all dimensions of human existence, this spirituality provides true peace, meaning, hope, and felicity through connection with God, the self, nature, and the Perfect Human. Each component is addressed at a general level in this study, while further elaboration on each can be developed in separate articles.
